The MW501 MTB Shoes is made with Shimano's "speed lacing" system, which ends with a flap over the ankle to better keep water and cold out. The top side is made of windproof and water-repellent materials. That means they keep rain, snow and dirt out and the heat inside. The shoe is made with a rubber bottom, which makes it easier to walk in the shoes if, e.g. you pull the bike. The sole is at 5 on the stiffness scale - it is sufficiently stiff wich give you a good force transfer, but not so stiff that you can not walk in it. Can be used with SPD, Crankbrothers, Time and most other mountain bikepedals.
